Wheelchair Distribution Ceremony

On June 24, 2016, PPCIL conducted a Wheelchair Distribution Ceremony presided over by Mr. Khim Sonsoda, Posenchey District Vice Governor, representative of Mr. Hem Darith, Posenchey Governor. There were thirty (30) used wheelchairs (2 Power Wheelchairs), donated by Aid to Asian Disabled Peoples (AADP), given to thirty (30) people with disabilities (PWDs) from different communities in and around Phnom Penh and provinces. This was the second time PPCIL distributed wheelchairs which donated by AADP to PWDs.

During the event, Mr. Mey Samith, the Executive Director, briefly reported what PPCIL has been doing to/for PWDs, including the main activities: Advocacy, Awareness Raising, Personal Assistant, and Independent Programs, of the organization to all participants.

Interestingly, Mr. Khim Sonsoda, profoundly appreciated to PPCIL who has always thought and cared of and supported PWDs unconditionally. He said this is the right doing and can be a good model for others to follow. Not only can a wheelchair help a PWD, but it also can help reduce the load of his/her family. Also, on behalf of PWDs and PPCIL, he thanked very much to AADP and donors who have always supported and helped our people, especially PWDs.
