Train persons with severe disabilities on independent living, advocacy, disability inclusion, gender and child safeguarding

PPCIL in collaboration with CDMD was conducted two days training on 3 – 4 March, 2016 we have invited 20 advocates but they were came 16 (F: 9) persons with severe disabilities, including 3 mothers of the beneficiaries, to participate a two-days training on independent living concept, advocacy, disability inclusion, and gender and safeguarding. Consequently, they were divided into three groups of independent living network in which each group consists of 3 females with severe disabilities. Each group is assigned to be involved in two selected Sangkats (Commune offices) in order to advocate and raise their voice and needs. They are expected to have hold the group meeting at the commune offices and participated in meetings with commune councilors; and they would have to make sure that disability issues are included into Commune Investment Plan (CIP). Nevertheless, for those who did not come to the training [4 (F:1) persons with severe disabilities], they would get shared information regarding to the training objectives through the group network meeting, and still be asked to join the groups.
